In An Emergency
First Aid
The persons currently qualified in first aid at work are listed on the front of each first aid box. There is also a channel in the Chemistry hub, named “First Aid Information” with additional information.
Chemical Hazard Response Team (Breathing Apparatus)
If an incident requires assistance from the Chemical Hazard Response Team (CHRT), phone Security (42222) and ask them to contact the Chemistry Hazard Response Team (radio channel 1).
Contact details of CHRT members be found on each of the green boxes at three locations where the apparatus is located: just off the central landing on the ground floor, first floor and second floor of the main chemistry building.
Current members of the CHRT are: Mr Douglas Carswell, Dr Philip Dyer, Mr Paul Hofmann, Mr Malcolm Richardson, Dr Matthew Kitching, Mr Peter Stokes. Miss Kerry Strong, Dr Connor Sibbald and Mr Gary Oswald.
A flow chart is available to help with decision making following a spillage.
